This is a 1996 Guernsey £5 coin (Five Pounds) issued to commemorate the 70th birthday of Queen Elizabeth II. The coin is often referred to as a commemorative crown. Details Issuer: Bailiwick of Guernsey. Year: 1996. Occasion: Issued to mark the 70th birthday of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II (1926-1996). Obverse (front): Features a portrait of the Queen by artist Raphael Maklouf. Reverse (back): Designed by Avril Vaughan, the reverse features a depiction of Windsor Castle in the background, with five flags (the Royal Standard, the Union Flag, the Queen's personal flag, and two pennants bearing the dates "1926" and "1996") in the foreground. Edge Inscription: The edge of the coin is inscribed with the Latin phrase "VIVAT REGINA ELIZABETHA", which translates to "Long Live Queen Elizabeth". In very good condition in plastic capsule and paper COA, but no box. Light scratching to the capsule but not the coin (See photos for condition).
