It’s said that the name comes from the bright robes worn by government officials, who were called “mandarin.” Some legends say that mandarin oranges were cultivated only for these privileged individuals. Whether that’s true or not, we can enjoy their soft, honeyed and fragrant aroma in this scent.Founded in 1993, Demeter Fragrance Library introduced the world to its unusual perfume-crafting philosophy. Created by perfumer Christopher Brosius and Christopher Gable, its first mission was to capture scents from nature and offer them as wearable perfumes. As its catalog expanded, it included more offbeat scents like Spacewalk, Paperback and Kitten Fur. The company offers its almost 400-scent collection in both the United States and Europe, where it launched The Library of Fragrance brand in 2015.
