There is some normal yellowing of the silicone material but there are no holes or tears in the material. There are some very small, light scratches/bite marks on the thumb tip. Guard has been washed in hot, soapy water since last use.
And yes, it works! When properly applied with the right amount of snugness, my son was not able to suck his thumb or take the guard off.
