This is a beautiful Antique late-1800s to early-1900s walking cane featuring a highly detailed figural bird-of-prey head handle with scale-textured grip and decorative collar. This is an original period cane, not a modern reproduction.
The handle, collar and shaft are cast white metal (often called German silver or nickel alloy) with honest age patina and shows appropriate wear from age and use. The cane retains its original heavy rubber ferrule with metal inner sleeve, which is rarely still present and helps confirm its age.
No repairs, polishing, or refinishing — exactly as found and exactly how collectors want it.
This style of cane was popular during the Victorian and Edwardian eras (circa 1890–1920) and was carried as both a functional walking stick and a gentleman’s accessory.
A striking display piece and a highly collectible example of antique figural canes.
