Antique Native American Canvas Beaded Belted Ceremonial Fringe Outfit Jacket Coat. Could be attributed to the Metis, Cree, or Ojibwe Tribes. Likely from the late 1800s to early 1900s. Probably created for some type of a ceremony or a tourist wild west show type of event, and it appears to be handmade. Lined with a muslin type fabric. Features beadwork along the collar, cuffs, belt, and chest areas, and it has fringe along most of the edges. There is a circular symbol on the left chest with a white horn or claw in the center and red triangles lining the oval - I am unsure of it's meaning.
Measures about 31" in length
Fair Condition, there are many areas of damage or deterioration due to age, missing beads, staining or discoloration, and both arms are partially detached and need repair. Please look at all of the images carefully. This item has been stored with mothballs and will have a mothball smell.
