this was my sister's old macbook, she recently upgraded but the battery is faulty and needs to be replaced. Specifically, the laptop turns on and works fine as long as the charger is plugged in, but will immediately turn off once unplugged, it has also become a little slow since the battery stopped working but we suspect that should change one it's replaced.
