This is an original 1964 edition of The Audubon Folio Great Bird Paintings, Prints 17" x 14", by John James Audubon. The accompanying book, which provides context and information about the bird illustrations, is attributed to George Dock, Jr. It also is unmarked and in pristine condition.
Set of prints of artwork by renowned naturalist, John James Audubon. Comes in tasteful hard-back black and blue cover with text "THE AUDUBON FOLIO | 30 GREAT BIRD PAINTINGS | TEXT BY GEORGE DOCK JR." Set contains 25 prints in excellent condition. The cover is also in excellent condition, wrapped in plastic. For his superbly beautiful series of 435 life-size, full-color paintings of the Birds of America, John James Audubon had won high praise and many honors from the foremost artistic and scientific circles prior to his death in 1851. Now his name is perpetuated by hundreds of "Audubon" parks across America.
