Apples are synonymous with Aomori.
The beautiful patterns of the traditional craft, Tsugaru Kogin-zashi, are carefully embroidered with an apple motif.
This item was created through a collaboration between BEAMS and the Hirosaki Kogin Research Institute. A special order color, red, was added.

Tsugaru Kogin-zashi
During the Edo period, the farmers of Tsugaru, who were only allowed to wear hemp clothing, began to embroider with cotton thread to stay warm during the long, harsh winters and to reinforce the hemp. This is how "Tsugaru Kogin-zashi" was born.
