A very nice Buchan Thistleware 9" rectangular serving dish - originally two were available, only dish #1 remains.
- Manufactured in Portobello, Scotland in the 1940s through 1970s.
- Buchan is considered to be among the world’s finest stoneware, with Thistleware one of the most popular patterns. No two pieces are the same, as each piece is hand crafted and hand painted, featuring a thistle, heather and blue bells.
CONDITION:
- Hand painted so each design is slightly different
- Colors vary between pieces, with some lighter shades and some darker shades
- Near perfect, with minimal to no signs of aging
- I see no cracks, chips, crazing, or repairs
