Born
in Argentina in 1939, Calman Shemi is a graduate of the ‘Ceramics and
Sculpture School’ in Mendoza, where he studied under the Italian
sculptor Libero Badii and the German sculptor Rudi Lehman.
In 1961, he settled in Israel and joined a Kibbutz where he resided for
twenty years. There he developed his individual sculpting technique
working in wood and clay, w
