Description: Antique steel-plate engraving of the historic moment the declaration was signed. This engraving is from a painting by the American artist John Trumbill. There are two detailed vinaigrette's of Liberty and The British repulsed at Fort Moultrie.
John Trumbull was an American artist during the period of the American Revolutionary War and was notable for his historical paintings. His Declaration of Independence was used on the reverse of the two-dollar bill.
