* On July 17, 1955, Disneyland® welcomed its first Guests through its gates. An "invitation only ticket" was given to a select group of celebrities, dignitaries and the press to enjoy the park prior to its public day opening. To commemorate the opening date to the Public on July 18, 1955, we have created a beautifully detailed Jumbo pin depicting the first general admission ticket sold. General admission at the time was $1.00 for adults and $.50 for kids. Once inside, Guests could purchase individual tickets from a ticket booth in front of each attraction.
