For sale here are 4 classic US Revenue Stamps from the early 1870s, with varying denominations - and Washington pictorials!
1. R115 50 cent Washington - a classic for the era, this stamp has a bold blue color, with a crimp cancel. It does show signs of a previous hinge attached.
2. R143 70 cent Washington - extremely ornate, this stamp is in mint condition and never cancelled. It has been previously hinged but doesn't detract from its fine quality.
3. R144 $1 green Washington - used, but in great condition, this stamp was pen-cancelled in 1872. Also hinged on the back.
4. R124 $2.50 blue Washington - this showpiece stamp has also never been cancelled, and shows incredible workmanship by the engraver. There are a couple very small pinholes on the stamp, and it was hinged at one time.
These 4 beauties would make a great addition to any collection, or a great start to a new one.
