I have several SATA/SAS controllers that I used to use. These controllers are SATA/SAS controllers, but I actually used them exclusively for my 12gbps SAS drives. This one is RocketRaid controller by HighPoint based on the LSI MegaRaid chips: 8 ports RAID 0/1/5/6/10/50/JBOD capable with 12gbps speed for SAS drive and 6gbps for SATA drive. There are 2 ports for SFF_8643 connection - each hosting 4 drives. It requires an open PCIE 3.0 x8 slot. ISSUE: One of the port (namely port #1) frequently has a difficulty finding the connected drive. I am not sure why, but I am listing this condition "AS-IS". Please note that this controller has only 7 ports that functions reliably and is priced accordingly.
