This is a large jumbo soup size CUP AND SAUCER in the famous VIOLET CHINTZ pattern. They are made by LEFTON China and decorated with gold trim, tiny violets and green leaves. The cup is approximately 3 ½" tall and 4 ½" across. The saucer is approximately 6 ½" across.
Both are handpainted with the well known blue and gold crown like those used 1956-1967 and the number 2356V on the bottom. The cup has a red with gold Lefton label used 1956 - 1966 and the saucer has partial oval MDE IN JAPAN label on the bottom.
This VERY HARD TO FIND pair appears to be in excellent condition as I find no chips, cracks, crazing. Small amount gold loss.
