Holroyd was the first person to have unrestricted access to Lytton Strachey’s papers, including his revealing and lively letters and previously unpublished correspondence from his friends — particularly those who collectively are known as the Bloomsbury Group. These two volumes unfold a panorama of an entire generation's social, political, and artistic environment.
