These sunglasses are a collaboration between Tokyo GLOBE SPECS, which was selected as the number one eyewear store in the world at the Bestore Award in 2017, and OLD JOE. Although they are not actually existing eyewear, this collection was created by designer Yusuke Takagi of the men's apparel brand OLD JOE and Okada of GLOBE SPECS, who worked together to design eyewear that they wished had existed. The brand name is "OLD JOE GLOBE SPECS OPTICAL CO." in Japanese pronunciation, and the brand name is the name of a fictional company that used to make these vintage eyewear.
Two types of metal frames are available: square and round. "MONK" was born from the designer's strong desire to create a classic and stylish square frame. A sophisticated and unique square frame has been completed.
Purchased around July of this year. The frame and lenses cost around 80,000 yen.
◾️Please note that the lenses have prescription and need to be replaced. The prescription is not very strong.
◾️The lenses are photochromic. The color is dark green (it looks almost like the black in the second photo).
◾️The case and non-prescription lenses will be included.
