In 2021 my wife and I were walking along Assateague Beach in Chincoteague VA when we happened upon this sadly beautiful beach goer.
Bald Eagles are protected under the Migratory Bird Act, so we could only leave foot prints and take only pictures (after we reported the find to the local DNR)
Edited and printed this haunting photograph looks a little like an oil painting.
