Professional-level reed, made in the American style, with blended scrape; V shaped tip (somewhat horizontal, like in the picture), ample heart, thick and strong spine and side rails, and well defined windows which blend in the heart. Very comfortable, with a stable pitch, outstanding low and high registers, dark sound and great projection.
Projection is key: most English horn reeds out there have a very small sound and sound extremely muffled, making those famously heart-wrenching orchestral English horn solos sound inaudible and emotionless. Our E. horn reeds DO project in any orchestral setting.
