Petri cameras were founded in 1907 (Meiji 40) as "Kuribayashi Seisakusho."
In 1917, it became "Kuribayashi Shashin Kikai Seisakusho."
During the heyday of Nikon and Leica, Petri cameras offered performance comparable to Nikon at the time, but at half the price, making them a valuable camera.
Due to financial difficulties, the company went bankrupt, resulting in a low production volume. Despite this, the high performance makes it a very rare product.
