• The Mark: The "RC" with a laurel wreath and the word "Nippon" underneath was a trademark used by the Noritake/Morimura Brothers company.
• The Date: This specific mark was registered around 1911 and used primarily for the export market. Because it is marked "Nippon" (the Japanese word for Japan), we know it was manufactured before 1921. After 1921, U.S. import laws required pieces to be marked "Japan" in English.
