This is a beautiful Schonborner Bleikristall emerald green cut-to-clear crystal bowl. The term "Bleikristall" translates to lead crystal in German. This bowl is made from lead crystal containing 24% lead oxide (PbO), as indicated by the "24% PbO" label. This high lead content contributes to the crystal's clarity and weight.
The bowl features a striking emerald green color that has been cut away to reveal its clear crystal pattern. This bowl has cuts of four starbursts and teardrops around the top edge.
This vintage piece was produced from companies such as Schonborner that existed when West Germany was a country, between 1945 and 1990. Many of these companies, including Schonborner, are now out of business.
This bowl is an excellent condition. It is crystal clear. It has no chips or cloudiness. The cuts are sharp.
