The Shure QLXD14/85-V50 is a lavalier microphone system that uses digital wireless transmission in the VHF band and delivers 24 bit 48 kHz audio. It reaches up to 330 feet while keeping every signal private through encryption that relies on 256 bit AES.
At the core of the package is the WL185 microphone, a cardioid capsule that focuses on spoken voice and helps reject room noise. Clip it to a lapel or collar and it serves presenters in corporate boardrooms, instructors in lecture halls, worship leaders on stage, or on-camera talent in broadcast studios.
The microphone connects to a QLXD1 bodypack transmitter that is built for everyday use and powers up to nine hours with two AA batteries. Setup stays quick thanks to IR sync and scanning that automatically finds open frequencies.
On the receiving end, the QLXD4 unit supplies RF meters, 60 dB of gain control, and both XLR and quarter-inch outputs, so it can feed a mixer, recorder, or PA system. An Ethernet port links the system to Shure Wireless Workbench software, allowing an audio team to coordinate frequencies and monitor several channels from a single laptop.
