This vase is signed by artist, James Benally, (Dineh), a Native American Navajo. This piece is cream and shades of brown and approximately 10" tall. Features a landscape scene of cacti and saguaro with mountains and flying eagle. Excellent used vintage condition, no chips or cracks.

JAMES BENALLY was born to the Red Cheek People Clan and lives on the Utah Strip of the Navajo Reservation just south of the San Juan River between the Four Corners and Monument Valley. He works with a variety of colors over either red or white clay. In addition to creating his highly detailed etched collectors pieces James and his wife Jean have been employed at Cedar Mesa Pottery since 1987. Each of their children have been trained in a variety of painting techniques and have also worked at Cedar Mesa. James signs each piece along with his tribal affiliation Dine or Dineh meaning "The People". James has done a variety of traditional Navajo etched pottery designs.
