I have confirmed that it powers on.
The volume changes when using the volume buttons on the main unit and controller, and "NO DISK" appears when other buttons are pressed, so it seems to be responding.
Since I don't have any MDs, I haven't been able to test it further.
Please consider this a junk item.
It's probably rare to have the box and manual.
