STANGL Pottery Mary Quite Contrary Hand-painted Kiddieware Plate #3951 1950s/Trenton, New Jersey. 9.25”.
Stanford Pottery Kiddieware line, specifically featuring the "Mary Quite Contrary" design, which depicts a girl amidst flowers and other elements, referencing the nursery rhyme. It is identified by pattern number 3951 and was likely designed by Kay Hackett.
While the Kiddieware line was generally produced from 1941 to 1978, the specific "Mary Quite Contrary" pattern began production in 1956. The company operated under the Stangl name from 1955 until it ceased production in 1978.
Lovely condition with no chips or cracks. Some wear from use as wall hanging in 3 spots front and back. See my photos. Maker’s mark are on the back, as seen in photos.

Weight: 1.2 lbs.
