3207-2024) Stibnite Crystal Cluster cabinet or collection display specimen measuring 10 1/8" in length weighing 163.4 grams Imperial. This fine specimen has multiple satellite crystals that naturally grew from the same base. It has a coating of white oxidized possibly barite crystals and calcite clay like encrustation from the mine pocket in Hunan, China where this was found. We acquired this during the mid-1990s from Mountain Gems in Burnaby (Vancouver), British Columbia, Canada from Bruce and Jan McLellan and believed this to be in original as found condition. We have examined the terminal crystal faces using a trinocular Amscope Microscope and see no evidence of abrading or machine marks. The crystals have morphological variability and various defects and irregularities associated with transport, handling, and being removed from the mine, otherwise would grade this cluster at least 8 on a scale of 10.
