This is a box of Tachikawa Spoon Pen nibs.
NO.600EF New Chrome Color, 1 gross, opened.
This box contains 1 gross.

This is a popular nib, ranked among the top 4 recommended dip pens for penmanship.

The New Chrome color is a fine-tipped type with an aluminum finish.
It is softer and smoother than chrome-colored nibs.

In addition, the ink flow is less prone to dripping, and the New Chrome color is also characterized by its resistance to wear.

This nib is easy to handle even for beginners and is a fine-tipped type that produces mellow lines, making it popular among enthusiasts.

It is said that several teachers at the Japan Penmanship Study Group also use this pen.

The name varies by brand:
・Nikko: ◆Saji Pen
・Tachikawa: ◆Spoon Pen
・Zebra: ◆Tama Pen

LION, famous for office equipment, also manufactured these, but they are no longer in production.

Currently, the Japanese nib brands on the market are:
Tachikawa, Nikko, and Zebra.

The Nikko brand was taken over by Tachikawa, so there are only two manufacturers: Tachikawa and Zebra.

Zebra nibs are a popular brand, supported by teachers at the Japan Penmanship Study Group.

There is also talk that the older ones are better in performance.
Around 1985, during the period of rapid economic growth, the number of dip pens manufactured was an astronomical figure of 1 million gross (1 gross is 144 pieces).

Government offices and banks also switched to ballpoint pens with the trend of the times.

An astronomical number of nibs were manufactured, and there were many skilled craftsmen. Currently, the production volume has drastically decreased, and the old craftsmen have now left their jobs.

Also, the manufacturing equipment still uses the machines of that time, and I have heard that there are fewer craftsmen like those of the past, and the skills of the old craftsmen were higher.

In addition, the New Chrome color nibs have little deterioration and still maintain their original performance.

However, they are plated with tin, and in some cases, they may be discolored, but there is no problem with their performance.

I also enjoy penmanship and change nibs depending on what I am writing.

Tachikawa nibs are also one of my favorite nibs.
