First edition, first printing hardcover copy of The Lightning Thief by Rick Riordan (Scholastic, 2005). True first edition with original, out of print cover art. Book one in the beloved young adult fantasy adventure series, Percy Jackson & The Olympians. Jacket now protected in new (removable) archival sleeve but with rubbing/scuffing to faces and shelf wear around the edges. Creasing to bottom edge of front cover with some chipping/peeling of glossy laminate. Large tear to bottom fore edge of front cover. Boards bowed away from text block at fore edge, with some staining and bumped corners. Binding is firm and spine is straight, though glue is visible in gutters after seeing through endpapers. Liquid damage to top edge and bottom fore corner of text block, extending a bit onto many pages. Dog-eared pages. See photos for condition.
