The North Face's 'Trans Antarctica Parka' is a hooded waterproof jacket designed based on the wear worn by the members of the Antarctic crossing team.
In 1989, an international team composed of members from six countries, including Japanese adventurer Keizo Funatsu, challenged the Antarctic continent crossing with the aim of appealing the importance of the environment and peace, and all members successfully reached the goal in March 1990. This product is designed based on the wear worn by the Antarctic crossing team at that time.
The material uses a GORE-TEX PRODUCTS 2-layer structure and is used on the durable 200-denier recycled nylon outer fabric.
The collar, which is attached from the neckline with a firm front drop, has room inside for a neck gaiter or a stand-up collar layer.
The front has a double-flap specification to improve waterproofness. Ventilation is provided under the arms to efficiently release stuffiness inside the garment.
The flags of each country that participated in the Antarctic crossing team are placed on the right chest and back, and a "TransAntarctica Expedition" silicone patch is placed on the left arm.
The cuffs and pockets have thick Velcro specifications that allow for easy opening and adjustment. There are left and right zip pockets inside.
The waist can be tightened with an inner drawcord to prevent wind from entering from the hem.
This is a mid-length outerwear that covers the hips, with excellent windproof and waterproof properties, and is a great piece for outdoor activities and winter activities on cold days.
