The Vintage Coal Mining Bacharach Canary Permissable Methane Detector is a rare piece of mining equipment from Somerset Co, PA.
This was used in coal mines to detect the presence of methane gas, ensuring the safety of workers.
It is untested, and from around the mid 70s. I suspect the batteries will need replaced. Very good condition.
