Insert fits perfectly into the basket. I had no idea what it was or if it even belonged in the basket. After some research, I see that it is indeed supposed to be there and is a pie or cake holder. I thought it could be used as a stable drink holder when picnicking
Nice vintage condition. Some wear to the leather. Handles move freely. No broken reeds
