A deceptively special gemstone of Chrome Green Tourmaline from the Commander Mine, Tanzania. What seperates this from other Green Tourmaline is that it started its life as Brown Tourmaline (Dravite). Then later in its crystal formation it became a bold brilliant deep Green Tourmaline (caused by the inclusion of chromium). Most of these Tourmalines are bicolor being brown toward the base and turning Green at the termination tips. So this gemstone was faceted from the termination tip of an originally brown Tourmaline. This is extremely rare and highly sought after by collectors. The Commander Mine is world famous for producing these unique Tourmalines. The gem looks different in different lighting. Same color but the way the light appears to refract can appear strikingly different in different lighting conditions. Very aesthetic gemstone.
