Signed first American edition, first printing hardcover copy of The Gift Horse: Report on a Life by Hildegard Knef (McGraw-Hill Book Company, 1971). The first of a series of memoirs by the German actress and writer. Signed and dated by author on half title page. Jacket protected in new archival sleeve but with some mild rubbing to faces and shelf wear around the edges - including small tears and creasing. Boards slightly soiled from handling and with bumped corners. Binding is firm and spine is fairly straight. All pages clean and unmarked though tanned. See photos for condition.
