Hammered Aluminum Covered Serving Dish w Floral Tulip Design Mid-Century 1940s

This is a vintage hammered aluminum covered serving dish featuring an embossed floral design on the lid with tulip shaped lid handle. The two side handles also are embossed with a floral design. Hammered aluminum serving ware was popular in the 1930's -1950's due to its light weight and durability. This piece was originally designed to hold a glass baking dish, but can be used for serving various dishes, from casseroles to salads, or used as a decorative display piece. The piece does show its age with various scratches, color variations and dents. However, its still an attractive vintage (nearly antique!) piece to add interest and a touch of nostalgia to your table setting.
