This is the complete set of 8 1951 Warner Bros. Movie Lobby Cards measuring 11" x 14" for “Goodbye, Mr. Fancy”, a romantic comedy directed by Vincent Sherman & starring Joan Crawford & Robert Young. Reinforcing social changes brought on by World War II & movies portraying women as successful on their own, such as 1945's Academy Award-winning “Mildred Pierce”, the plot follows an influential Congresswoman who returns to her former college to receive an honorary degree only to find her old flame as the university president.
The condition of this full set of 8 stylish midcentury lobby cards is fine to very fine with excellent color & glamorous period-appropriate images, especially of Joan Crawford who is playing a Congresswoman. Overall, cards have general wear & tear primarily in borders including chips in the corners of a couple cards, marks & scuffs. One card has some tape marks in border. There has never been any restoration work done to preserve these lobby cards. See photos.
