Rare vintage Dodge/ Haydon hula girl table lamp from the 1940s. It stands at 18 1/4" tall and the bottom of the base is approx 7-1/2" wide. The motor IS working however her hips are not moving ( you can feel the rivets on the side moving however the hips are not moving ). Has a working 3-way switch. Turns on solely the light or the hip moving "hula" function, or both light & hula function at the same time.
Perfect for collectors of WWII memorabilia, vintage Hawaiian décor, or unique mid-century lighting, this lamp is both a historical artifact. A true conversation piece from a bygone era.
The first dancing hula girl lamps appeared in the 1940’s and were originally made by a company called Dodge Company in Chicago. The Dodge company was a manufacturer known for producing items like the Oscar and Emmy awards. The original lamps are made of pot metal with a bronze finish.
