A fascinating and exciting discovery from the Tentadora Mine in Peru of Quartz that is coated in a complex amalgamation of secondary mineral species. This particular specimen has light blue Shattuckite with darker blue chrysocolla with black Tenorite. Other minerals could be present in this specimen as well such as Turquoise and ajoite (at least so I am told). I am just going to tell of the ones I know for sure are present on the piece. Both the Chrysocolla and the Shattuckite are finely crystallized forming many spheroidal and botryoidal crystal growth formations which look stunning. These are extremely rare and highly sought after. The only place that these have ever been found is at the Tentadora Mine in Peru and thats it. In my humble opinion this is one of the coolest combination specimens in the mineral kingdom.
