Flow Blue is highly collectible, antique blue-and-white china. This antique dishware was most popular during the Victorian era and has become increasingly popular during the past half-century. See pictures for condition.

Flow Blue is a type of antique china called transferware. The production of this attractive dishware produces a gentle, hazy quality in the design that was originally a mistake. The brilliant white background contrasts with the beautiful cobalt blue color of the decoration. The desire for blue and white pottery of this kind made in England grew out of the desire of the English to own fine Chinese porcelains.

This beautiful flow blue plate is in the Lancaster pattern from the New Wharf Pottery in Burslem, Stoke-on-Trent England. The Lancaster plate was manufactured for only three years from 1891-1894 The plate is a luncheon size at 8 7/8 inches in diameter. It is in EXQUISITE antique condition. This is a gorgeous example of a flow blue plate.
