Older lidded Nantucket Basket unmarked but similiar to Barlow- 10" wide and 13" high with the handle extended. 6" deep. On the lid is a resin topper with a great whaling scene right out of Moby Dick. One whaleboat is in pursuit under sail power. Beautiful ship portrait of the mother ship with great details throughout. The scene has a slight sepia tone to it. This is an older basket that I picked up that needed restoration. I replaced the leather hinges and had to rewrap the loop that goes on top of the latch. The new leather hinge straps were treated with lanolin. Aside from the repairs, the basket is in excellent shape with beautiful woods and a nice even patina from age. Price accordingly because of the repairs. I was a scrimshander back in the 80s and 90s. I toured with juried craft shows and was featured in magazines
