A Victorian-era women’s health and moral instruction book, this 1905 revised edition was part of the “Self and Sex” series written by Dr. Mary Wood-Allen—one of the few female physicians of her time and a leading voice in the purity and reform movements. Aimed at guiding young girls through the physical and moral changes of adolescence, it offers a fascinating look at how girlhood, health, and virtue were taught over a century ago.

Overall fair to good condition for its age:

• Cover: marks and wear at edges and corners (curled)
• Spine: marks and wear at ends
• Pages: overall good condition with some age marks, folded corners and small tears. First page is very loose (and may become detached, see picture)
• Edges: age marks and darkening

Please see all pictures as well to help determine condition.

Thanks for looking!
