A Bit of History:
Franciscan Desert Rose glassware, including the cup & saucer, was first introduced in November 1981 & produced in England between 1985 & 2002 after Wedgwood purchased the Franciscan brand & moved production from California to England. The glass line featured the same popular design of pink roses & olive green stems seen on the dinnerware pattern
Franciscan Desert Rose cups are made from earthenware ceramic, not porcelain. The term "earthenware" refers to a type of ceramic ware that is porous & unglazed before firing, making it a type of ceramic. Porcelain, on the other hand, is a different type of ceramic that is fired at much higher temperatures and is known.
