Vintage PFLUEGER "Medalist" 1494 fly reel.
VG condition. Clean, nice. Works perfectly, including adjustable drag system.
Taken apart, thoroughly cleaned & lubed. Smooth as buttah.
Exact year is unknown.
It's definitely pre-1963, as the drag disc (aka "ratchet disc") is the "4/12" brass type and not-flippable (so the reel is RHW only).
Made in USA (later Medalists were made in Japan, then China).
It's post-1930s, since it doesn't say "patent pending", the posts have screws, and the line guide is not round (but it's reversible, of course).
So I'm 99% sure it's 1940s (or perhaps early 1950s?).

I hate to part with it, but I'm thinning out my vintage reel collection.
