Austin N. Palmer developed his handwriting system, which emphasized rhythmic, economical movements using the arm's proximal muscles, and published his first book in 1894.

His method gained national recognition after its demonstration at the 1904 St. Louis World's Fair became the most popular handwriting system in the United States by the early 20th century.

Austin N. Palmer died 1927, but the A.N. Palmer Company capitalized on the method's success by selling textbooks, certificates of completion, and other supplies to students and educators. The company dissolved in 1988.

This booklet is a 1936 handwriting textbook prepared for grades five and six. There is some damage and ink writing and ink stains shown in pictures. Overall, this is a great piece of American history of handwriting that is declining and may be considered a dying art due to the dominance of digital technology.

2 advertisements inside, one from 1940. I am adding that in with the textbook show in pictures.
