This vintage Herend figurine features the character Nils
Holgersson from The Wonderful Adventures of Nils, a work of fiction by the first woman to receive the Nobel Prize in literature, Swedish writer Selma Lagerlof. The figure depicts Nils riding a domestic goose from his farm which joins a group of wild geese and gets led on an adventurous trip across all the historical provinces of Sweden.
The vintage Herend hand painted figure is in excellent condition, free of chips, cracks, repairs and crazing. It measures approximately 8” high x 10” long × 4 1/2” deep at the base.
